The Dargwa part of the North Caucasian Etymological Dictionary.

    Database structure.

    1. Protoform. The Proto-Dargwa form in S. Nikolayev's reconstruction.
    2. Meaning. As in most lowlevel (subgroup) databases the meaning presented here is not an attempt of semantic reconstruction, but rather an enumeration of the actually attested meanings in daughter languages.
3-4. Languages (dialects): Akusha, Chirag. The Dargwa dialects are considerably further from each other than, e. g., Lak dialects and can be justifiably qualified as languages. However, really complete data is available only for Akusha (the literary Dargwa language) and for the Chirag dialect, collected by the MSU expeditions.
    5. Comments. Additional dialectal data available (basically from Musayev's work) are placed here, as well as all sorts of explanatory remarks.
    6. NC etymology. A link to the upper level North (East) Caucasian database.
